In the final of the British Long Range Prone Championship, for the Earl Roberts Trophy, Cliff Ogle placed 6th, with Ken Greenaway 13th and Bill Baird 14th.

In the Women's 3P a good field of twelve shooters, including Norwegian visitor Malin Westerheim, contested the qualification round, with Jen McIntosh leading the field on 585. In the final Jen got away to a decent lead of 2.2 ahead of Malin in the Kneeling, and so it remained at the end of the final, with Sian Corish of Wales taking third place.
The Men's Prone featured an experienced international field, including 2000 Olympic medallist Harald Stenvaag of Norway, 1996 Olympian Gary Duff from Northern Ireland, Scotland's own 2008 World Cup medallist Neil Stirton, 2008 & 2012 Olympian Jon Hammond and a member of GBR's 2010 300m World Championship winning team in Harry Creevy from the Isle of Man alongside a number of other experienced shooters from across the UK.
Neil and Jon topped the qualification round ahead of Harald, and were joined in the final by Gary Duff and Stuart Hill of Northern Ireland, Simon Green of England and rising Scottish talent in the shape of Jim Main and Lenny Thomson. Tricky conditions made for a low-scoring final, Jon Hammond snatching the lead back on the last shot to finish just 0.1 ahead of Simon Green, with Jim Main in third.
The Women's Prone field also featured a number of highly experienced athletes including Commonwealth Games Gold medallists Sheena Sharp and Jen McIntosh. In the end it was an all-Scottish affair, with Jen McIntosh a clear winner ahead of Maria Bexley and Sarah Henderson.
The competitors in the Men's 3P event were probably the least experienced field all weekend, and James Paterson had a comfortable lead in both qualification and the final, with Bobby Spence and Finn Ryley taking second and third.
The results book can be found here.

The previous day had seen Graham Shedden make off with the Wilkinson Sword in The Freuchie and Ewan Scougall winning the Sgian Dubh in C&D class.
A message from Bill Hamilton:
The trophies for the C&D Speedway (The Boston Bowl) and the Indoor 3P championship (The
Watsonian
Trophy) are currently missing despite the efforts of Jim McIntosh to track them down.
I
have a personal interest in these trophies as the former was donated to the SSRA for annual
competition by
my late mother (born in Boston and hence the name) and is high-quality American
silver-plate. The latter
was presented by myself at some expense. I do not want them left mouldering in
someone's attic for the
unforeseeable future and just be forgotten about.
If you have any information about
the whereabouts of either
of these trophies please get in touch with the webmaster in the first instance with a view
to having them
returned.
Editor's Note: The Boston Bowl has subsequently been found, and the Watsonian Trophy was never missing, having been awarded annually for the 50m Three Positions Championship since the mid-1980s.
Despite struggling with her health - which meant she was unable to compete in the Prone event - Seonaid McIntosh produced a remarkable performance in very difficult conditions to dominate qualification in the Women's 3P - her new British junior record of 581 the top score.
In the final she was well placed after the Kneeling and Prone stages, but slipped back slightly during the Standing to finish fourth
The third 3P Grand Prix was held at Denwood yesterday, with Bobby Spence the top dog after the final. Sheena Sharp and Brogan Smith collected the remaining medals.
Jim Main took advantage of relatively light winds on a chilly day to come out on top in this SSRA Prone Grand Prix. As the Caithness event is run on paper targets, the final is not conducted in a "return to zero" format and Jim's even-point lead from qualifying, where he scored 594, set him up nicely. Scores are to be found on the Domestic Results page.
There were some minor medals for some of the Scots at the British 50m Championships at Bisley.
In the Men's Prone Neil Stirton was the only Scot to qualify for the final, finishing in third place.
Sarah Henderson was third in the Women's Prone, with Fiona Crowden in fifth.
Scotland was unable to field teams in the Home Countries 3P Matches. In the Women's Prone the team were second, and in the Men's Prone they were third. Details of the teams and scores can be found here.

Class C was also close, Ian Henderson pipping Cyril De Jonckheere by 0.6 for the win, Brogan Smith 0.1 behind Cyril in first. Class D produced the biggest margin for Jake Smith, with Graham Martin and Robin Shand second in third.
Ian Henderson's winning streak continued in the C&D Grand Prix, leading Martin Sinclair and Ian Thomson onto the podium.
In the qualification for the A&B Grand Prix, Fiona Crowden was way ahead with 624.0, 611.0 good enough to make the cut for the final. Fiona was unable to shoot in the final however, maximum points going to Bobby Spence ahead of Jim Main and Jim Godsell.
Neil Stirton, Jen and Seonaid McIntosh were amongst the British team at this World Cup. Neil shot well in both elimination and qualification, 626.1 giving him 16th place.
In the Women's Air Rifle scores from the Scots were well below expectations, but there were better performances in the 3P - Jen shot 584 in the elimination, finishing with a string of 100 in the standing position. The qualification round did not go quite as well, 580 placing her 24th.
Seonaid McIntosh, shooting for MQS only, shot another new personal best of 575, picking up another British Junior record in the process.
With only four entries spread across the 3x40 and 3x20 events, a combined final was run at the first 3P Grand Prix of the season. Brogan Smith came out on top, ahead of Sheena Sharp and Maria Bexley.

Class D went to Mike Smith ahead of Jake Smith, with Graham Martin third.
Scott Dixon won the first of the Prone Grand Prix competitions, beating Niel Stofberg and Neil Stirton in the final. The C&D Grand Prix went to Ian Thomson ahead of Jake Smith and Martin Sinclair.
Jen McIntosh and Neil Stirton were amongst the British team who attended the Grand Prix of Liberation in Pilsen. Neil was the best of the Brits in the Men's Prone - a solid 624.7 placing him 18th.
In the Women's Prone, Jen McIntosh was 7th, setting a new British Record in the first relay, only to see Lina Jones beat that in the second relay! Jen and Lina combined with Sian Corish to take second in the Women's Prone team with a new British team record.
In the Women's 3P, Jen came a cropper during one of the changeovers between positions, when her rifle was knocked off of the table, splitting the stock in two just in front of the pistol grip. Fortunately help was at hand in the form of Daniel Grünig, who very kindly provided another stock from his trade stand, allowing Jen to complete the match and help the team to another new British Record.
Seonaid McIntosh narrowly missed out on the 3P final in Suhl. 574 placed her 10th, two points off the final, and it was 10th again in the Women's Prone match with 614.3.
The West of Scotland Small-bore Rifle Association will stage their Open competition at Alloa's Tullygarth range on Saturday June 4. Details of the event and how to enter can be found here.

The annual Easter Open on the Isle of Man attracted a decent entry from Scotland, with Jen & Seonaid McIntosh, Fiona Crowden and Sarah Henderson all competing.
In the 3P event, qualification scores were on the low side in challenging wind conditions, but the final was a hard-fought affair, with Jen coming out on top and Seonaid second.
This pattern was repeated in the Prone, with Jen, Seonaid and Fiona taking the top three places in the final.
With the ISAS competition split across two weekends once more, Sinclair Bruce travelled with the Scottish Seniors to the first part - Fiona Crowden with 14th place in the Women's Prone the best result from the small team.
The following weekend a small GBR junior team, supported by Donald McIntosh, followed their footsteps to the Westphalian city. Seonaid's Prone and Air Rifle were lower than she would have liked, but she also made her debut in the 3P event, with an excellent 572 placing 14th.
The Scottish 10m Air Rifle Championships sported a new look this year, with a revised schedule and additional competitions added. Saturday provided the Junior Championships, along with a non-Championship match for Seniors, both held with finals for the top eight competitors.
The Junior Men's event was won by Dean Bale ahead of Jacob Hill and Tom Warren, with Scotland's Brogan Smith in fourth place. In the Junior Women's event, local athlete Seonaid McIntosh was the clear winner ahead of Kim Tzabach and Jemma Toms. In the Senior matches, there were no surprises, Jen McIntosh and Jack Bale well ahead of their respective fields
Sunday's schedule included the Senior Championships - open to the Juniors as well - and also the new AR50 Mixed Pairs event. Both finals became family affairs, Jen McIntosh winning the Women's Championship ahead of sister Seonaid and Jemma Toms, and Dean Bale getting ahead of older brother Jack by just 0.1 on the final shot. James Paterson was third in the Men's event, winning the confined Scottish Championship in the process.
In the afternoon, the AR50 event was held. In the qualification event, each athlete shot 25 shots, giving the pair a total score out of 50 shots. The top eight pairs then proceeded to two semi-finals, each athlete shooting firstly two series of three shots, followed by pairs of single shots, with the fourth placed team eliminated after a total of eight shots each, third placed team eliminated after two additional shots. Two further shots to complete the semi-finals took the winning pair from each forward to a Gold Medal Match, with the second-placed teams contesting the Bronze Medal Match.
This produced a Gold Medal Match of Seonaid McIntosh & Jack Bale against Jemma Toms & Jacob Hill, while Dean Bale & Ruth Holloway faced Vikki Walls & Emily Bale for the Bronze medal. Each medal match consisted of a series of single shots from each athlete, the highest scoring pair on each shot winning one point - the first team to five points winning the match. McIntosh & Bale took the Gold 5:3, with Holloway & Bale winning the Bronze 5:1.
The inclusion of the AR50 Pairs event proved to be particularly popular with the younger athletes, and we hope it will be held again in future years.
The results book is available here.

Jen McIntosh made a great start to this Olympic year with a very productive week spent in Innsbruck and Munich. Her scores in Innsbruck weren't quite enough to make the finals, but an upward trend was carried forward into the Munich Airgun competition, with a stunning 419.8 on the first day taking her into the final in third place. A very tough final ensued, with Jen ending up in 6th place.
Day two saw another very solid performance, 417.3. was 12th in the field of 100 shooters, just 0.9 away from a second final. Seonaid McIntosh - shooting in the senior event - also had an exellent day two, a new personal best of 416.4 placing her 20th.
Jen's 419.8 is a new Scottish and British Senior Record, and Seonaid's 416.4 a new Scottish and British Junior Record.
Maria Bexley won Air Rifle GP4 in the Kingdom of Fife and found the time to reflect on the victory:
"I did indeed win, and over a few damn good shooters too. What was surprising is that I had lent my equipment to my daughter Keira , it's all sized up for her now and I usually just use her settings. This GP she made it to the finals too - oh hell - so I borrowed a rifle and a pair of old size 10 boots and got there despite!"
Results from the first THREE rounds are now available here on the Domestic Results page.
