Day 6 at the CSF Championships - Close calls in 50m Prone
16th March 2005

Scotland were denied two medals in the Men's and Women's Individual Prone events by the narrowest of margins.  Firstly Neil Stirton produced the final of the championship with ten tens for 104.2, climbing from 6th to 4th, just 0.2 behind New Zealand's Olympic shooter Ryan Taylor.  Sheena Sharp was then counted out of the medals in the Women's prone, with the fourth and fifth strings coming into play to separate the three British shooters tied on 582.

16th March 2005

Day 5 at the CSF Championships was relatively quiet for the Scottish contingent, with Shona Marshall unlucky to miss out on the final of the Women's Trap.  With only two points separating the top seven competitors, she lost out on a place in the last six on a shoot-off with Suzanne Balogh of Australia.

Silver Medal for Marsden & Thomson
14th March 2005

For the third CSF Championships in a row, Mike Thomson and Ian Marsden have won a medal in the Men's Skeet Pairs, this time Silver.  Mike also picked up the bronze in the Badge Match.

Silver Medal for Sinclair & Stirton
12th March 2005

Martin Sinclair and Neil Stirton won the first medal for the Scottish team, with Silver in the Men's 50m Prone Pairs, beating third placed India and fourth placed Australia on countback.

Neil also picked up second in the concurrent badge match.

CSF Championships due to start
10th March 2005

The Scottish Team arrived in Melbourne on the second of March, and has had a few days to recover from the journey, acclimatise to the timezone change, and do some light training before the competitions start. With the Formula One Grand Prix in town, visits to the Melbourne Motor Show and the Grand Prix were on the cards for some, along with a road-trip to the Twelve Apostles along the coast to the west.
